The Old Vicarage in Llangenny – a home from home
I usually class myself as a City Girl, but if living in the country meant living in a house like this then I could probably be persuaded!
We stayed at The Old Vicarage in Llangenny during our family weekend in Wales. There was 15 of us all together so we needed a big house to fit us in and this was the perfect choice. There was a cosy living room with an open fire and comfy old leather sofas, which was the perfect place to chill out after our hike up Sugar Loaf mountain; a well-stocked kitchen with an Aga and a large dining room so we could all sit and eat together.
The house was clearly well-loved and it was nice to stay in a place which had lots of personal touches everywhere.
The bedrooms were a mixture of doubles and twins and our younger guests loved the garden!
All in all it was the perfect place for a nice, relaxing, family weekend. Happy faces all round!
Information: The Old Vicarage is six miles from Abergavenny. Prices start from £1350 for a week and £950 for weekends.
It does look a nice place to stay for a while, but it must cost a fortune to heat.
Yes, we thought that! Luckily the fire in the living room kept us all cosy and I guess the Aga helps to keep the house warm in winter.
Just the sort of comfy house I like to stay in! Thanks for sharing
Me too – it’s all about the small touches for me!
